Rare Public Post

You know, if I randomly stumble across your photobucket album and you've uploaded a friend's photo of their own face and named it nasty.jpg, there's just really no positive way to interpret that. Yeah, I'd love to hear an explanation as to why you'd be a backstabber, but really, there's no way it can be explained.

Actually, I take part of that back. The two people aren't currently friends. I thought they were at one time, but there wasn't any drama surrounding an un-friending, so they must've just been friends with 1 degree of separation. Either way, it's very petty and childish.

Anyways, my point is. I thought I knew someone. And I clearly didn't. Which really makes me question a lot of other things.

Incidently, I've removed some of my oldest LJ friends from my list. It took me a long time to do it. A year or more of silence, or random posts. But when it really hit me was that my dad died and people I would've once considered super-important to me...never even knew, still don't know, because I'm not a part of their life anymore. So it was time for ME to cut a cord there. It wasn't that I didn't like them...just that they'd moved on long ago and I am done waiting. I'm personally worth more than updating in someone's "FILL ME IN ON ANYTHING IMPORTANT!" post with "Oh hai, btw, my dad died!"

I've been thinking about removing folks from my list who haven't posted in a year, or who pop in occasionally like they're SO busy and want everyone to give them a personal update.

It shouldn't be difficult considering I've never met any of them in person, but when you read about someone's life for 3+ years it's hard to just cut off communication and never know what happened with their rocky relationship or their 4-year-old you've read about since the day they were born.

But yeah, I get what you're saying and where you're coming from.

I'm one of the worst offenders of the "disappear" and "pop back in" people! I read everyone, every single day, I just have nothing that feels post worthy in my own journal.

Really like the post. It’s always sad when you realize the people you once knew have moved out of your life and started a new life without you. I'm sorry for your loss btw, I know saying that doesn’t help but unfortunately nothing really can.
